TWO BOOTS
I discovered Two Boots back when I was commuting into Grand Central from CT for college. It was the best gift a commuter could ask for - amazing pizza for the hour-long train ride home. The GC location has since been shut down, but Two Boots boasts another 9 locations in New York, with the East Village being the birthplace of the pizzeria and my personal fave.
It's hard to pinpoint exactly what makes Two Boots one of my go-to pizza spots. Their corn-crust is unique and unbelievably delicious. Their decor is vibrant and eclectic. Their pies are creative and have some of the best names I've ever heard. AND, I'm not anywhere close to being vegetarian or vegan, but here I eat like one.
So this one goes out to the vegetarians and vegans out there.
Order the Tony Clifton (shiitake mushrooms, Vidalia onions, sweet red pepper pesto & Mozzarella), the V for Vegan (artichoke, red onions, shiitake mushrooms, sweet red pepper pest, basil pesto & Daiya non-dairy cheese), and the Vegan Larry Tate (organic fresh spinach, plum tomatoes, fresh garlic, with vegan ricotta & Daiya non-dairy cheese.)
I promise you will not be disappointed.
