99C FRESH PIZZA

Half the beauty of living in New York City is access to dollar pizza. Everywhere. For every hipster, boujee, or niche pizza place, there is an equally amazing cheap slice spot around the corner. The spot you are going to hit up out of convenience, starvation, drunkenness, or post-oscars, right?

This 99c fresh pizza spot is down in the LES. And despite the door advertising for pizza toppings including mushrooms, sausage, pepperoni, extra cheese, black olives, and pineapple - rest assured you will ONLY get a cheese slice. Why? Because it's a dollar. They will grab it off the display, slide it in the oven for a good 30 seconds, and throw it on a paper plate. Your toppings will include black pepper, garlic, and parmesan cheese from on top of the counter. And you will love it.

Typically, the most basic slice I'll order (every time) is pepperoni. BUT in honor of the Oscars, I am paying homage to the New York staples. Film, fashion, and dollar slices. THE BEST dollar meal you will ever have. (No offense, McDonald's. I love you.)

So cheers to extra cheese, extra savings, and just plain extra-ness this Academy Awards season.
